La Plagne
La plagne at one time led the way in pioneering new lifts , but over the years the investment slowed down a little and this shows in some parts of the resort , there are a couple of VERY steep and difficult draglifts which I remember from a season snowboarding in 94/95 and some are still there !
As a lot of the resort is up above the tree line , things can get a bit rubbish on bad weather days , so drop down in to the forests of Montchavin and play down there till the sun comes out ,don’t forget that you are linked to Les Arcs via the Vanoise express , a massive double decker cable car that whisks you across the valley , although you may not necessarily get a Paradiski( the name of the la plagne /les arcs area ) pass with your job , you would be able to upgrade on your day off though if you fancy a jaunt out with all your mates .
Jobs in La Plagne
Another resort with all the top tour operators here , lots of medium sized companies and a host of chalet companies too.
Slopes
There is such a lot of choice in La Plagne , so its difficult to point you in one direction , but if bumps are your thing then scoot over to the bellecote glacier , look out for the Ski des Boisse for a real burn .. for some fast cruising look out for these runs too : Arnica , Les Laines plus the Biollay area is great fun too .
Top Tips
If you are just getting into your POW then head to Les Bauches for some forgiving powder runs , but as your season progresses you will find yourself heading to the glacier on bluebird days to hit the “petit face nord” and the “couloir Canadien” , don’t ignore dropping down to lower resorts of Montchavin and over the back in to champagny though , the tree runs are amazing .
